Mr. Kyle Monestero
I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the new Coordinator of Educational Services – Secondary for Round Lake Area Schools District 116. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role as I support the students of the Round Lake community and join a team that is deeply committed to empowering student success.
This upcoming school year marks my 13th year with Round Lake Area Schools and my 22nd year in education. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles, including Special Education Teacher, Curriculum and Instruction Specialist, and Special Education Department Chair at Round Lake Middle School. Each of these experiences has strengthened my passion for supporting students, collaborating with staff and families, and creating inclusive educational opportunities that allow all students to succeed.
I earned my master's degree in Advanced Special Education Practices from Northern Illinois University and hold an endorsement as a Director of Special Education from Loyola University Chicago. I am committed to lifelong learning and supporting evidence-based practices that positively impact students and staff across our district.
Education is also deeply important to my family. My wife is a Special Education Teacher, and together we are passionate about supporting children and families both professionally and personally. We utilize these same practices with our own two children, who are currently in elementary and middle school.
As I begin this new role, I am excited to collaborate with our students, families, staff, and community partners as we continue to build strong educational experiences that inspire and empower students. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in this role. I look forward to a great year ahead.
